The biggest complaint I hear from my students and colleagues is that nobody has any time to practice. To disprove this notion and squeeze in a little extra practice for myself, I decided to create a series of practice vlogs called Practice in the Park. In this video you will find me on the North Hill of Central Park while my son is in his sports class. Rather than sit on the sidelines and scroll on my phone, I snuck away from the action to squeeze in some practice time.
As a busy mom, I have finally come to terms with the fact that free time will literally never show itself to me. In order to prioritize my musical wellness and continue to grow and challenge myself as a musician, I will need to MAKE TIME. This means trading out scrolling time, tv time and other time wasters. I don’t want to overwork or stress myself out, but I DO want to make sure I get my practice time in.
How do you make time for practicing?
