So HOW do we say no more boring chords???
By adding in the Sus 2(opens in new tab) and Sus 4. You can add these chords as movement to major and minor triads.
Notice below that we are moving from a C major triad to a C sus2 and then to a Csus4. This adds movement.
Practice this through different keys in MAJOR.
You can do this in minor too!

Once you have this material secure under your fingers, try it on some chord progressions(opens in new tab). In the video tutorial I use the “Axis of Awesome” chords:
C - G - Am - F
(I - V - vi - V)
Once you have this down, you can experiment with the same progression in different inversions.
Here, I use second inversion:
Finally, you can pulse these chords or you can arpeggiate them. I call this technique “Wiggly Fingers” and that is what you hear Elton John and Billy Joel and many other pop piano players play!
