Blueberry Hill was one of the most popular rock and roll songs of the 1950s. Recorded by Fats Domino in 1956, it remains a track on 50s Rock and Roll Greatest Hits compilations for a reason.
Few people know that it was actually written by Vincent Rose and with lyrics by Larry Stock and Al Lewis. It was turned down by numerous publishers until it was recorded by big band leader and songwriter Sammy Kaye way back in 1940. It was recorded on the RCA Victor label by Kaye’s band and was immediately recorded by Glenn Miller later that year on RCA Bluebird.
In 1941 “cowboy” singer Gene Autry also had a true with the song which was featured in the 1941 movie The Singing Hill. It was later recorded by Louis Armstrong whose recording inspired singer/pianist Fats Domino to pick it up in 1956.

Step #6: BONUS learn to play an improvised solo!
As I show you in the tutorial, you can play an improvised solo of the A sections by playing this hybrid bluesy scale, which consists of the notes 1-2-b3-3-5-6-b7-8 in the key of B. This scale works on all of the chords in this section.
Your LH will play 1/5-1/6 for each of the chords, which is a boogie woogie style bass line.
