Against All Odds is the emotional pop ballad written and performed by Phil Collins. Recorded for the soundtrack of the 1984 movie Against All Odds, it became an instant number one hit.
He wrote and recorded it while he was on tour with Genesis, and his vocals and drums are featured on the track.
This is a great example of a powerful pop ballad with some nice opportunities some triad voice leading and a few pop piano voicings too!

Against All Odds Verse Chords
One detail to notice in this arrangement is that we are using pop chord voicings. In this case, whenever we have a minor 7 chord, we are going to voice it as a major triad over the root. In the case of Cm7, we will be treating this as an Eb/C. Then you can choose which inversion to use of the Eb chord.

Notice we use a lot of the triads over bass notes here. These are called slash chords!
